Vine Launches for Android

Their are two reasons why this news caught my attention. 1. I personally feel that Vine has reached the ‘tipping point’ I may be late and some of you may have already abandoned the fledgling social network for pastures new, but I always felt it had the edge over the ‘low brow self broadcasting’ currently owning Keek’s servers, I may be wrong. 2. I recently popped my Android cherry in the form of a Nexus 4 (thanks Google!) and will soon to be looking at my iPhone like a annoying step cousin removed. Soon not yet.

Anyway, Vine has launch for Android release the flood gates to a whole new consumer group via Google Play store for smart phones. According to T3.com ‘the app won’t be as fully-fledged as the iOS version with a lack of support for the front-facing camera and some other missing features however Twitter has confirmed that from the outset it will have one key function that won’t be available on iPhone: The ability to zoom’

I wonder what content this move brings to the already growing, 13 million strong user base.

Nudie Jeans Opens UK Repair Store

I’ve worked with a few denim brands in my time, but I’m not quite ready to take that step and vouch that I am a denim purist. I like to wash my jeans, I’m too fussed about Selvedge, my preferred cut is a bit too skinny and with a pretty short attention span, I’ve never worn one pair long enough to develop that ‘just right’ worn out bleed.

Saying that, I’m a massive Nudie fan and so was very pleased to hear of UK’s debut store and the world’s first Nudie Repair Station, opening in Soho, London.

The new store houses the first official Nudie Repair Station in the world. Customers have the option of having their old Nudie Jeans altered and repaired for free by the Nudie Denim Specialist. The repair programme fits into the brands strive for a healthier and more sustainable consumption patterns

The repair store is a great spin, allowing to brand to assist with the longetivity of their products and reward customers. However I wonder how the true denim head feels? Should one not lear their own rip and repair methods? I for one don’t have the patentice (but respect those who do) so bring on more services like this.

VERSUS VERSACE: A New Phase

For the past couple of weeks I have been working alongside a few talented folk from London, Milan and New York on the relaunch of Versus. The provocative and rebellious clothing line from Donatella Versace. Now this it has wrapped (we launched May 15th New York – with a killer party and fashion show, featuring Angel Haze, Dead Sara, Grimes and the collaboration capsule from J.W Anderson) I had the time to share a few shots fromt the event a build up. Definitely a trip to remember.
