Nike x Disturbing London Blazer

Tinie Tempah teams up with Nike, to launch the Disturbing London Nike Blazer. Released with a some what smaller fan fair when compared to the marketing monster that is the Kanye West “Yezzy” the kicks were debuted during his Hackney Weekender performance last month. Designed by the man himself, the Disturbing London ‘Nike Blazer Mid LR’ feature gold logo embroidery on the heel patch along with postbox red uppers. More details to follow…

A simple but efficient first effort one thinks, Thoughts?

The Music: Labrinth ‘Electronic Earth’ Review

The Music: Labrinth ‘Electronic Earth’ Review

Team UK in 2012 is strong. Dominating the single and album charts, homegrown urban talent is once again established as a bankable asset (Remember So-Solid circa 1999) which therefore makes the signing of artist and producer Labrinth by Simon Cowell an intelligent decision.

‘Electronic Earth’ sounds to me, like it would of regardless of this resurgence or Simon’s input. A strong, largely self produced body of work with a direction, to blend the acoustic with the electronic.

Labrinth vocals and messages bring the soul with lyrics such a “Boy’s don’t cry, I need treatment” on the mid tempo ‘Treatment” he blends electro elements in much the same way as Coldplay have with “Mylo Xyloto”

“Climb On Board” a standout for me and opener for the set, is a blended affair of piano rifts, AutoTune, D&B drums and Street Fighter effects. While single “Last Time” could be the soundtrack to any Sega mega drive classic. (Golden Axe anyone?)

This variation makes for a mature, refreshing and highly listenable, however the much needed punch, Labrinth is capable of (Tinie Tempah ‘Pass Out’ / Ms Dynamite “Neva Soft”)  would of a been a nice addition.

The Fashion: Disturbing London Selfridges Launch

Disturbing London, the clothing line fronted by Tinie Tempah has launched in Selfridges throughout the UK today (April 5th, also my birthday… Just saying) The label produced by streetwear maestro’s MHI, has been a project I worked on alongside EMI records, Disturbing London, Marketing queen Katie Rimmer and my team at SurgeryPR.

Originally an online exclusive, its great to see the collection in such good company stocked in Selfridges, which really showcases the line. Standout pieces for me include the Camo shorts (Every man should own a pair of camo shorts, again just saying. I’m not Mr Porter) which feature a bespoke Camoflage design designed by Hardy of Maharishi. I also would suggest checking out the Icon Shirt and Moto pant.

Peep a few shots of the collection and Selfridges space below
